  • Evening Program: It's time for comprehensive Aswan exploration during your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise journey as you begin with visiting the impressive High Dam, completed in 1970 as a modern engineering marvel standing 111 meters tall and stretching 3,830 meters long that revolutionized Egypt's economy and agriculture by controlling the Nile's devastating annual floods, generating massive hydroelectric power providing half of Egypt's electricity needs, and creating the vast Lake Nasser reservoir stretching 550 kilometers offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape. Continue to the fascinating Unfinished Obelisk still lying in the ancient granite quarries that provided Egypt with building materials for temples and monuments, which was intended to stand over 42 meters tall weighing approximately 1,200 tons as the largest obelisk ever attempted before a crack was discovered during carving and it was abandoned where it was being hewn, revealing incredible insights into ancient Egyptian stoneworking craftsmanship, quarrying techniques, and engineering methods. Finish your evening on the Luxor Aswan Nile cruise with the enchanting Philae Temple on Agilkia Island, the "Pearl of Egypt" dedicated to goddess Isis representing motherhood and magic, meticulously relocated stone by stone during an ambitious UNESCO rescue operation to save it from Lake Nasser's rising waters while preserving its original orientation, featuring elegant colonnades with beautifully carved capitals, towering entrance pylons, intricate reliefs depicting the Isis and Osiris mythology, and the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions ever written in ancient Egypt! Enjoy a delightful dinner before docking overnight in Aswan.
Aswan Royalty Sceneries – Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples
  • Morning Program: A good day aboard your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise begins with a hearty breakfast buffet featuring fresh fruits, Egyptian pastries, international options, freshly squeezed juices, and aromatic coffee or tea, then enjoy peaceful sailing toward Kom Ombo while relaxing on the sun deck. Watch the stunning Nile scenery continuously unfold before your eyes on this Royal Lily Movenpick Nile cruise—endless palm groves swaying gently in the breeze, traditional villages with mud-brick houses painted in earth tones, agricultural fields where farmers tend crops using methods passed down through countless generations, water buffalo cooling themselves in shallow pools, children playing along the banks waving enthusiastically at passing vessels, and fishermen casting nets just as their ancestors did for over 5,000 years creating a timeless atmosphere that transports you back through millennia of continuous civilization.

  • Afternoon Program: The historical immersion resumes during your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise with a fascinating visit to Kom Ombo Temple, ancient Egypt's only perfectly symmetrical structure and absolutely unique double temple built in dedication to Sobek the crocodile-headed god of fertility, creation, and the powerful Nile waters symbolizing the river's life-giving force and ability to sustain Egyptian civilization, and Horus (Haroeris) the falcon-headed god of the sky and light serving as divine protector of the pharaohs representing kingship and royal power. Marvel at the temple's remarkable reliefs depicting ancient surgical instruments including scalpels, forceps, bone saws, and dental tools showing advanced medical knowledge that existed over 2,000 years ago, a nilometer carefully carved into the temple wall for precisely measuring flood levels to predict agricultural yields, a beautifully preserved birth house (mammisi) where divine birth rituals were performed, and a fascinating collection of mummified crocodiles that once lived in the temple's sacred pool receiving offerings and worship from devoted priests. Continue sailing to Edfu on your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise while enjoying lunch with spectacular panoramic views of the Nile's timeless beauty stretching endlessly in both directions.

  • Evening Program: Prepare to admire what's universally considered the most complete and best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple in existence, the magnificent Horus Temple in Edfu dedicated to the powerful falcon-headed god, standing as an exceptional testament to Ptolemaic architecture constructed between 237 and 57 BCE. Marvel at the temple's towering 36-meter-high entrance pylons adorned with dramatic battle scenes showing pharaohs victoriously smiting enemies, remarkably intact walls covered in thousands of hieroglyphic inscriptions telling the mythological story of Horus's epic battles against his uncle Seth to avenge his father Osiris's murder and claim his rightful throne, massive hypostyle halls supported by columns with elaborate floral capitals, the sacred birth house celebrating divine conception, detailed astronomical ceiling decorations, the holy of holies sanctuary where the cult statue once resided, and inner chambers that provide absolutely unparalleled glimpses into religious ceremonies, daily temple rituals, and priestly duties from over 2,000 years ago. Enjoy a delicious dinner before docking overnight on your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise.
Royal Luxor – East Bank Temple Splendor
  • Morning Program: Commence your journey with a satisfying breakfast aboard your Nile cruise, then sail peacefully through the historic Esna lock toward legendary Luxor, often reverently called the world's greatest open-air museum housing approximately one-third of all ancient monuments on earth. As you cruise along during this Luxor Aswan Nile cruise, relax on the sun deck watching the beautiful Nile landscapes continuously transform—desert cliffs giving way to lush agricultural zones, ancient temple ruins appearing on distant hilltops, modern towns blending seamlessly with traditional villages, and the famous Theban mountains gradually rising on the horizon signaling your approach to this extraordinary archaeological wonderland that served as Egypt's magnificent capital during the New Kingdom period when the empire reached its zenith of power, wealth, and cultural achievement spanning nearly 500 years.

  • Afternoon Program: Relax and enjoy the mesmerizing view of Luxor's beautiful corniche lined with palm trees and elegant hotels! Savor lunch on board your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise featuring freshly prepared dishes showcasing the best of Egyptian and international cuisine, all while watching the city's vibrant activity unfold along the riverbanks and anticipating the magnificent temples awaiting your exploration this evening.

  • Evening Program: Visit Luxor's absolutely astonishing temples during your Luxor Aswan Nile cruise, beginning with the colossal Karnak Temple, the world's largest ancient religious site covering over 200 acres (about 80 hectares) and representing over 2,000 years of continuous construction, modification, and enhancement by successive pharaohs from the Middle Kingdom through the Ptolemaic period, each ruler adding their own architectural contributions to glorify the gods and establish their divine legitimacy. Walk through the breathtaking Great Hypostyle Hall featuring an incredible forest of 134 towering columns reaching up to 23 meters high with massive capitals wide enough to hold 50 standing people, each intricately carved with hieroglyphs and colorful reliefs depicting religious rituals, pharaonic victories, and divine offerings that once blazed with vivid paint, along with the sacred lake where priests performed daily purification ceremonies before entering the holy sanctuaries, soaring granite obelisks piercing the azure Egyptian sky including one standing 29 meters tall weighing 323 tons transported from Aswan quarries over 200 kilometers away, and multiple sanctuaries dedicated to the powerful Theban triad of Amun-Ra the king of gods, his consort Mut the mother goddess, and their son Khonsu the moon god. Continue to the magnificent Luxor Temple built by pharaonic masterminds including Amenhotep III who constructed the original core and Rameses II who dramatically expanded it with massive pylons and colossal statues, connected to Karnak by the recently restored 2.7-kilometer Avenue of Sphinxes featuring over 1,000 sphinx statues lining the ancient processional route, featuring its grand entrance pylon decorated with scenes of Rameses II's military campaigns, six colossal seated and standing statues of the pharaoh, the remaining 25-meter obelisk (its pair now majestically stands in Paris's Place de la Concorde since 1836), elegant colonnades with papyrus-bundle columns, and chambers that become even more magical when beautifully illuminated at night! Enjoy dinner before docking overnight in Luxor.
Valley of Kings Farewell

Enjoy your last breakfast on the legendary Nile (for the time being, of course) aboard your luxurious Luxor Aswan Nile cruise before heading to the spectacular West Bank of Luxor, where beautiful history was magnificently made, remarkably preserved, and eternally honored through some of ancient Egypt's most extraordinary monuments. Begin your exploration at the legendary Valley of the Kings, the sacred burial ground where 63 tombs of pharaohs from the Eighteenth Dynasty (including Tuthmosis I, Hatshepsut, and Tuthmosis III), Nineteenth Dynasty (including Seti I and Rameses II), and Twentieth Dynasties of Egypt's prosperous New Kingdom (c.1550–1069 BC) were meticulously carved deep into the limestone hills to protect royal mummies and priceless treasures from tomb robbers who plagued earlier burial sites, including the world-famous tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamun (KV62) discovered nearly intact in November 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter containing over 5,000 artifacts including his iconic solid gold death mask weighing 11 kilograms, golden throne, chariots, jewelry, and countless funerary objects. Descend into elaborately decorated burial chambers adorned with vibrant hieroglyphs still retaining traces of their original brilliant colors, extensive excerpts from sacred funerary texts including the Book of the Dead, Book of Gates, and Amduat providing detailed instructions for navigating the dangerous underworld journey, and colorful paintings depicting the deceased pharaoh meeting various deities, overcoming obstacles, and achieving eternal transformation that have miraculously survived over 3,000 years in the dry desert climate. Continue during your Royal Lily Movenpick Nile cruise journey to the absolutely breathtaking Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, honoring one of ancient Egypt's most powerful and successful female pharaohs who ruled for approximately 22 years (1479-1458 BCE) during the Eighteenth Dynasty, rising majestically in three elegant colonnaded terraces carved dramatically into the golden limestone cliffs creating a stunning architectural harmony between human creation and natural landscape, showcasing detailed reliefs depicting her divine birth claiming legitimacy through the god Amun-Ra, her successful trade expeditions to the mysterious Land of Punt (modern-day Somalia/Eritrea region) bringing back precious myrrh trees, gold, ivory, exotic animals, and incense, and her numerous building projects throughout Egypt. Stand before the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive quartzite stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III originally weighing 720 tons each and standing over 18 meters tall (originally 21 meters before earthquakes damaged them), silently guarding what was once the largest mortuary temple ever constructed in ancient Egypt spanning 385,000 square meters before it was destroyed by earthquakes and floods, having watched over the Theban necropolis for over 3,400 years through countless civilizations, conquerors, and historical transformations. The Luxor Aswan Nile cruise might be for just a few days, but the incredible memories, profound historical insights, stunning photographic moments, and deep appreciation for ancient Egyptian civilization's remarkable achievements will last forever in your heart and mind.
